Youth Employment at the WORk Life THrough Long-Term Employability Skillls

Employability skills are the “key skills and personal attributes you need to enter, operate and thrive in the new world of work.” They are necessary skills for getting, keeping and being successful in a job. These competences have large impacts on access to the labor market. All these skills are also called transferable skills because they can be transferred between different job and various employment sectors. It is an undeniable fact that having work-related skills is necessary but not enough. The main objective of this project is to determine the long-term employability skills of youth, reveal the training strategies and to create a training methodology for youth trainers. Other important objective is to increase an awereness between youth about the most important employability skills. These skills increase job retention time and reduce the time to leave work early.

TURKONFED is the applicant organisation. Other partners are İSEM (Govermental Organization), GLOBEST (NGO), JA Turkey (NGO works for Youth), IED (entrepreneurial organization),ITPIO (Continious training center),MC 2020 (Training Center), TDM 2000 /(Youth Organization). Worth project developed four important intellectual outputs which are as follows: IO1: Assesment of the long-term employability and transferable skills of youth in Europe: Partners developed a need analysis to find out the current situation with regards to the long-term employability skills that are required and that are considered to be necessary for youth to enter the labour market in their countries. IO2: Provide a Compilation of Success Stories for the Promotion of the Use of Employability Skills in Youth Employment: Many good practicies in the field of entrepreneurship was searched and a general report was developed by the partner countries.IO3. Creation of Training Contents on Long-Term Employability Skills:Based on the desk research and IO1 project partners developed a cirriculum consist of nine modules which will help youth to be employed. The modules are:Leasership,Taking a risk, Decision Making,Planning and Priotizing,Self Confidence,Communication,Business Writting and Presentation,Foreign Language,ICT Skills. Tese modules were developed and seminars were provided to the youth.IO4. An Online Learning Environment: The last IO is the open resource platform for youth. Youth can take the training based on their needs in this platform. As a result worth project developed a country report which contains the current situation and needs for employability in english and in partner languages. Good practicies report was developed in English and in Partner languaces which navigate youth for employment. This curriculum conmtains nine modules for youth to identify, develop and enhance their long-term employability skills was developen in English and in partner languages.
